Ms. Weatherly has been working in the field of interior design and decoration for over 20 years. Her interiors are considered and often described as calming. The intent is always to create a place where her clients, colleagues and collaborators are glad to return: in body and/or spirit.
The drawings and paintings manifest, illustrate and hope to replicate in the viewer a quiet, curious moment of confident nothingness. The images are an invented personal iconography which strike a balance of the thing they represent and the thing of which they are made. That is all. The ground or field surfaces of the oil paintings are a luminous, painted presence while the figures possess a subtle evidence of hand.
